The Arab American University in Ramallah hosted a delegation of ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions on the sidelines of a high-level workshop entitled "Global Perspectives on Women's Leadership in Diplomacy," organized by the University in partnership with the Business and Professional Women's Network - Palestine (BPW) and the Women in Diplomacy Department.
The delegation included heads of international missions and representatives from the United Kingdom, Finland, Switzerland, Sweden, India, Germany, the European Union, Canada, Italy, Jordan, Egypt, Cyprus, Ireland, and Turkey.
The delegation was received by the University President, Dr. Bara Asfour, Vice President at the Ramallah Campus, Professor Dr. Mohammad Asia, Academic Vice President at the Ramallah Campus, Dr. Majdi Owdi, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Dr. Nouar Qutob, and Professor of Diplomacy and International Relations, Dr. Dalal Iriqat. During the meeting, the University President provided an overview of the University, its academic programs, international partnerships, and its vision for promoting high-quality higher education and connecting students with international expertise. He also highlighted the University's role in hosting academic and community events that contribute to enriching academic and societal dialogue.
The meeting explored prospects for joint cooperation between the University and the participating diplomatic missions, particularly in academic, research, and training fields. Discussions focused on enhancing opportunities for knowledge exchange and capacity building, as well as the possibility of developing strategic partnerships with academic institutions in the countries represented by the visiting delegation.
The University administration emphasized the importance of this meeting in strengthening cooperative relationships with institutions and diplomatic missions, and in enhancing the University's presence as an active academic partner open to international cooperation. This, in turn, contributes to the development of academic and research programs and expands opportunities for scientific and knowledge exchange.
For their part, the members of the diplomatic delegation expressed their appreciation for the University’s hosting of this unique event, praising its role in providing a space for dialogue and exchange of experiences, and for the supportive academic environment it offers to students and researchers, and its openness to local and international partnerships.
